I’m a mom and birth worker living in Richmond, VA via Los Angeles, CA. I have been living on the east coast for 14 years. I moved here to attend VCU, little did I know I would be in school forever. I am currently studying to become a certified nurse midwife. I’m a dedicated caregiver to all life forms, with a little farm and flower garden in my backyard and an adorable baby boy named Bronco.

I became a doula because I love supporting people through this beautiful ritual that can so often be intimidating. I had a difficult time throughout my pregnancy, but my support system helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel. I was supported through my own birth by an amazing doula who provided my partner and I with continuous and unconditional support. Now, I feel driven to provide that same care for others. It has been a life-changing decision to dedicate myself to birth work and I am so glad my personal experience moved me to empower others during their own transition into parenthood.

Birth is a sacred time that should be protected, and I feel a doula’s role is to provide a necessary boost of confidence and a safety net. When working with expecting parents, my goal is to help equip you with the necessary tools to have your dream birth, but we will also work on being prepared for the unexpected and having the skills for those situations. Before labor, I will advise you on breathing exercises, acupressure, laboring positions and techniques. I focus on presenting evidence-based information to my clients to educate so you can filter all sides of an issue through your own wants and needs. That way, you can find your approach and tailor your birth to your desired experience.

Instead of my clients molding to my style, I mold to you. I give you space to be your own advocate in the birth room but am comfortable and able to step in to be your spokesperson (or even your personal bouncer!) when needed.  I’m ever present for labor and delivery, providing safety and comfort, and being the go-between for you and medical staff to ensure you can make the best-informed decision possible. To assist with pain management, I provide comfort, coping techniques, relaxation, acupressure, massage and guidance to your labor partner. I ensure confidentiality and work with several experienced doulas in a network that supports one another in the event that one of us is at another birth.
